The streets of beer: discover the craft breweries in the province of Pesaro/Urbino
In recent years, the province of Pesaro/Urbino has seen the emergence of a number of craft breweries that are setting standards at the national and international level.
The Province of Pesaro-Urbino, in collaboration with the cultural association “Made in PU” and the association “Apecchio Città della Birra”, has launched the project “Beer Roads”, which aims to promote craft beer and more, thanks to the skill and enthusiasm of these brewers. LE STRADE DELLA BIRRA

The medieval village of Sant’Angelo in Vado (PU) hosts the Mostra del Tartufo Bianco pregiato delle Marche (Fine White Truffle of the Marche Region) every October. It is the oldest national exhibition dedicated to the precious white truffle in the Marche, and the second oldest in Italy after the Alba Fair. TARTUFO
The Domus del Mito in Sant’Angelo in Vado
The fact that the Campo della Pieve in Sant’Angelo in Vado preserved in its subsoil a conspicuous part of the inhabited area of the Roman city of Tifernum Mataurense had been known for some years, since a fortunate series of aerial photographs with rare evidence had shown a dense and articulated fabric of buried structures. This evidence, moreover, supported by the results, not enthusiastic but quite conclusive, of an extensive exploratory survey carried out in 1999, had for a long time led the Municipal Administration to conceive, together with the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici delle Marche, an extensive excavation and valorization program. Now it is in all its beauty for all to see. DOMUS
The Montefeltro, a beautiful area, sometimes unexpected. Here are some little curiosities:
Piobbico, the town of the ugly, with its fortresses and hermitages, where, in addition to a good beer, you can taste the polenta alla carbonara that has become the trademark of the area. PIOBBICO
Fermignano, two unique events: Palio della Rana (first Sunday after Easter), a historic tournament. This tournament celebrates every year the detachment from Urbino, accomplished in 1607 by Francesco Maria II della Rovere, the last Duke of Urbino. PALIO DELLA RANA The tradition, which continued in the following years, gradually faded until 1966, when the Pro Loco wanted to revive the historic celebrations by reviving that original tournament, the frog race in a wheelbarrow between the seven contrade towns.
Grand Prix of the nineteenth century bicycle
Historical race in which the protagonist of the event is, of course, the bicycle, the precursor of the modern bicycle. The race takes place between the seven contrade of the city, along the streets of the historic center. BICICLO OTTOCENTESCO
Just a few kilometers from the country house il Biroccio is the Mercatale, an artificial lake. It is an artificial swimming lake where you can row, rent canoes and pedal boats, play beach volleyball and take wind and kite surfing lessons. There is also an open-air bar/restaurant for appetizers, lunch or dinner! LAGO MERCATALE-SASSOCORVARO
One last piece of information: perhaps not everyone knows that Valentino Rossi was born in Tavullia, 26 km from Urbino. The champion opened his ValentinoStore in his hometown a few years ago, at Via Battisti 5, just outside the historic center. VR46
